Which Conditions Require Emergency Dental Care?

The following conditions may require emergency dental care.

Crooked or Broken Teeth

People with crooked, broken, or chipped teeth are frequently shy or self-conscious.

Do you often smile through sealed lips because you’re ashamed of your teeth? Do you stop yourself from smiling to avoid exposing your teeth?

If so, our emergency dental care can restore your smile and your confidence!

We’re just a phone call away!

Persistent Stains

You may think that stained teeth don’t qualify as a dental emergency.

However, if your teeth remain stained even after thoroughly brushing them daily, this may be an indication of an underlying disease. If you’re concerned, set up an emergency dental appointment for diagnosis.

Even if your teeth stains aren’t caused by an underlying disease, we can still whiten your teeth to restore your beautiful smile!

Accumulation of Tartar and Plaque

No matter how well you brush or floss your teeth, you can’t remove every last bit of food particles stuck between your teeth.

These food particles accumulate and eventually turn to plaque, which invites bacterial infections. If you don’t seek immediate emergency dental care, the plaque eventually hardens into tartar.

Plaque and tartar can wreak havoc in your mouth. They lead to bacterial decay, gum recession, and a number of other issues. If left untreated, plaque and tartar even leads to dangerous diseases like gingivitis and periodontitis.

Do you feel a persistent aching in your mouth? Do your gums bleed easily? Then you may have plaque and tartar, so visit an emergency dentist immediately!

Decaying Teeth

Teeth decay for a number of reasons, one of which is plaque and tartar accumulation that invites bacterial infections.

Signs and symptoms of tooth decay include spontaneous toothache, tooth sensitivity, increased sensitivity to hot or cold foods, visible holes in your teeth, stained teeth, or sharp pain when you grind your teeth.

Most of these symptoms can be attributed to other diseases and factors. But if you notice several of these signs and symptoms, seek an emergency dental service now because you may be suffering from decaying teeth.

Persistent Bad Breath

Bad breath doesn’t automatically mean you’re looking at a dental emergency. It could just mean that you need a better mouthwash.

But if you have persistent bad breath that remains even after brushing and flossing regularly, you have cause for concern.

Persistent bad breath can be indicative of various underlying diseases like gingivitis or periodontitis. If left untreated, these diseases can eventually lead to tooth decay and possible tooth loss.

Don’t suffer with your bad breath in silence. Contact an emergency dentist in Houston, TX and restore your oral health!

Emergency Dental Treatment

Depending on the disease or situation, URBN Dental offers the following emergency dental treatment options.

  • Crown placement
  • Tooth extraction
  • Denture placements
  • Veneer placements
  • Root Canal Therapy
  • Dental implants
  • Bridgework
  • Whitening services

At our emergency dental clinic, we use minimally-invasive and comfortable treatments so that you feel no pain or discomfort. Our priority is to save your teeth and restore your smile in the best manner possible.

Intensive procedures like tooth extraction are only considered after we have exhausted all of our options.

We also provide porcelain custom-made veneers and dentures so that your new teeth look and feel like the real thing!

Our emergency dentist studies your conditions and medical history thoroughly and actively discusses your treatment options. He or she develops a treatment plan specifically designed for your needs and expectations.

Healing Process After Emergency Dental Care

Our patients unanimously report that they experience no pain either during or after the procedure. That’s because we use an anesthetic solution to numb your gums before treatment.

However, on the off chance that you do feel pain after the treatment, please let us know so that we can remedy the situation immediately.

Some pain may be natural after the effects of the anesthetic wear off. But we counter that pain with a prescribed painkiller such as ibuprofen.

I went in after having procrastinated for years because of my dental phobia. From the moment I walked in to their office, I felt at ease. The dental assistant, hygienist and Dr. Bridget made me feel so at ease and explained everything they were doing, every step of the way. I’ve never had such a great dental experience, as I did today. Highly recommend.

Best dentist office visit ever! Not only are the staff charismatic, they are very knowledgeable too. They took the time to go over my X-rays with me and made sure I understood what everything was, down to the payment options. They did not rush my exam at all. There was no wait time from the moment I walked in the door to the moment my exam was completed. The office itself lives up to its name with the urban decor. It is also very clean. I would recommend anyone to come here if you're looking for competent, patient, and kind dentist and staff!

I went in today and they really made me feel comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and you can tell they make customer service a priority. They made sure the music playing was to my liking and made sure I was comfortable in my chair. The dentist was very knowledgeable and explained the whole process to me in a way that I can understand. I don't like going to the dentist, I don't know anyone that does, but I am glad I went to URBN Dental and wold recommend it to anyone looking for a dentist.

She gave helpful and practical tips to brushing and flossing to make my routine more enjoyable. Everyone at URBN Dental Uptown was attentive and courteous to my needs from handling the insurance/financials to ensuring a pain/mess-free cleaning and filling. The staff here is extremely friendly and professional. From the very beginning, the staff greeted me with kindness and respect. My paperwork was filled out within 15 minutes and afterwards, the dentist called me back almost immediately. So the wait time for my first appointment was basically non-existent. I’m not sure if it’s normally like this or if it’s just a coincidence. Regardless, it was very nice to see the staff and dentists in perfect sync with servicing the customers as quickly and efficiently as possible. My first appointment here was primarily because I had a painful sensation on the bottom right of my tooth. It turned out to be a cavity as I expected. The dentist explained the procedure for a filling and I agreed to go through with it on my next appointment. Thank you for an honest experience that resulted in me learning what the problem with my tooth was.

Very satisfied with my recent experience at this dentist. As a first time customer, I walked in with low expectations, since I find this mentality to be effective for softening the blow if it turns out to be a disappointing service.Well, it turned out to be above average service from the staff at the front desk and the dentists themselves. They are all very professional and the dentists working here are patient when it comes to answering questions. I felt fully fulfilled after leaving the dental office. I’ll definireky be back.

I've never been to a more thorough and comprehensive dental appointment as the one at URBN Dental! They went over all of the photos and x-rays with me in detail to help explain all of the issues I had, and it's the first time I fully feel like I understand why I need to floss more consistently. They taught me how to properly floss and brush, and I even got a new electric toothbrush with my appointment. Would definitely recommend.

I was immediately greeted by friendly faces when i came in! Online scheduling and patient paperwork made it so easy to get an appointment with no waiting to go back to the room. Every person of staff from front desk, hygienist to dentist introduced themselves to me and took the time to explain everything they were doing. I’ve never had a dentist actually sit down and explain the biology behind flossing, bone health, nerve health etc. it was great to feel like I was being taken care of by true professionals. They were also very explanatory of exactly what my insurance covered and the cost breakout of all of my services. I would recommend this office to any of my friends and family.

The URBN Dental office is very beautiful! It is modern with natural wood and emerald green elements. I went in for my regular cleaning and exam after looking up 5+ dental offices in the area. I recently moved to uptown and am extremely happy to have found URBN Dental. The Hygienist, Angela, did not only give my advice in regards to my dental hygiene techniques, she educated me which made me more eager to go home and carry out my new routine. Dr. Bridget was very kind, answered all my questions, and gave me a great referral for my wisdom teeth extractions. I will be returning for all of my preventative and general dental needs!

Very friendly staff who put up with my inane sense of humor. The entire team team spoke with me 1:1, including:Dental assistants, hygienist, dentist, and insurance admin (explained everything to me in detail including how my insurance works). They explained my x-rays to me, the effects of flossing correctly / incorrectly. I feel like they gave me the education I didn't get as a child on how to care for my mouth, and why it's important. I was doing good stuff for my oral health-- just not correctly or with a positive attitude.GREAT aftercare package.

I am usually scared of going to the dentist for my annual cleaning but I was completely blown away by the amazing customer service from the staff. Julia was extremely helpful and explained my dental coverage and out of pocket costs. Angela did an exceptional job explaining to me about the importance of dental hygiene and actually taught me how to floss properly. The office was extremely clean and upscale. Dr. Bridget was very sweet and great bedside manners. She explained everything about the treatment plan in a very thorough and concise manner. I was extremely impressed by everyone on the office and I cant wait to come back for my next appointment.

Love the location, the dentist AND the staff. Everyone there is awesome. It's rare that I leave a dentist office feeling just as good as when I arrive. I was sad I didn't get to see Snickers, but all in all I had a great experience my first time here. Glad to finally have a new "home" dentist since moving to Texas.

Beautiful location and office. Very friendly and welcoming staff! I had a great time conversing with them about movies and music. Dr. Nguyen and his staff were very knowledgeable and stressed the importance of making sure the patient knew what their game plan was. The office is very high tech as well so it was super cool to know that I was getting the latest tech being use on me.

The staff is wonderful, very friendly and informative. I love how they not only take X-rays, but also photos of all your teeth and put them on the big screen. They spent as much time as I needed to go over each area and explain specifics of each tooth. I definitely have a greater understanding of what is going on in there and what I need to do. I also love their space, it has a calming vibe with all kinds of artwork on display. You almost feel like you’re not at the dentist! Thank you all so much, I look forward to seeing you all again! FAQs

A dentist is your partner in your dental healthcare and therefore choosing the right dentist is an important and crucial decision for you and your family. Do not pick a dentist randomly from the list of dentists your insurance company provided you. Firstly, make sure that the dentist is interested in the health of your whole body. The right dentist is never just concerned for the teeth. He forms a connection of oral health to the rest of the body and deals with your dental problems accordingly. An experienced dentist will ask you about your health history and will educate you about how impactful oral health is on the health of your body.

To find an experienced dentist one can ask his current dentist if he knows of someone at your new destination. You should also ask your dentist if he is a member of a professional organization such as the American Dental Association. Another option could be to ask the insurance company for an out of network option where the list will not be limited to only a certain type of dentists. Also, when looking for a good and experienced dentist, one should seek one that continues to carry out educational workshops on dentistry and health.

Asking for recommendations from friends, workmates, and family can also get you to an experienced dentist. You should also be interested in taking a look around the office of the list of dentists you have. See if the office is comfortable, orderly and neat. You should make sure about the dentists and staff wearing gloves and other protective gear while carrying outpatient treatment.

A dental emergency can be a pretty scary experience. Are you in severe pain? Did you get your teeth knocked out? A visit to an emergency dentist and treatment center is no fun and finding an emergency treatment center is even more frustrating. Before finding yourself the right place to go to, make sure that you save any pieces of the tooth that your dentist may need. You can take a painkiller that is mild or any anti-inflammatory pill like ibuprofen. Now you can move onto finding a dentist quickly.

Start by calling your general dentist. See if he is available. In case this option does not work then move on to search for an emergency dental center using a search engine and type in your city and "emergency dental treatment center." You can search for results in neighboring large cities if you do not get any positive results in your own city.

Make use of Google Maps or Yelp to find an emergency dental center.

The significance of oral health and hygiene cannot be overstated. If a person has poor oral hygiene, then the person can be a victim of further gum diseases that can, in turn, have painful symptoms such as bleeding gums, sensitive gums or sometimes the complete loss of a tooth. To avoid situations like these most dentists suggest regular dental care appointments. If in an emergency, you experience sudden toothaches or see signs of soreness or bleeding gums then it is crucial that you consult a dentist in an emergency.

When a person has a dental emergency and requires urgent dental treatment, it can be difficult to find an emergency dentist near the person's area and that too at short notice. Depending upon how severe the problem of the patient is, the patient will have to either visit a dentist straight away, which will possibly be at a hospital or will have to make an emergency appointment to see a dentist the same day or the next day. A person can also book a routine appointment to have the problem treated if he doesn't get help on the very same day.

If a tooth has been knocked out, then it becomes important that you get to a 24-hour emergency dentist and find an NHS dentist. If you are not sure about the severity of your dental problem or are unaware of where the nearest emergency dentist is, you can contact the NHS 111 service to get help.

To find the best dentist, one needs to be proactive about finding a dentist in the neighborhood in order to be at ease and to save oneself from heartache later. You can find out about the best dentist from your neighbors and friends. Asking out about whom they consider as the best dentist can be really helpful. Your doctor can also recommend someone so do not forget to discuss with him.

If you are new to Houston, then the local hospital can put you in touch with someone or your health insurance provider can give you a recommendation on the matter. It is extremely beneficial to consider the logistics; pick a practitioner who lives close to where you live or work. Check out the office timings for the dentist and make sure the timings go well with your office hours.

Get yourself on the phone to find the best dentist for your dental problems. Check the Yellow Pages in order to find out if any dentists are listed near you. Try giving them a call. You can always get your hands on important information through a phone call. Notice how the receptionist answers your call. Does he answer the switchboard in a professional manner and do they seem eager to help you out with your problem? Is the receptionist distracted or impatient? You do not want to feel unwelcome when you go to the dentist with a problem, and so make your decision on first impressions.

A smile that is vibrant and healthy does not only build up confidence, but it also boosts the morale. Daily dental care can help make a person's smile stronger and brighter. In order to keep your smile bright, you will have to start with the basics. Start flossing your teeth every day as it is the best way to fight off plaque and tartar. Plaque is a nasty film that keeps on growing over your teeth every day and tartar is a hardened plaque that gets left on your teeth. Flossing can help to cut back on both of these, which in turn prevents further complications, e.g. gum disease, tooth loss, tooth decay, and cavities, etc.

Caring for teeth after every meal you have is a to-do-must. You do not need to carry a whole dental kit with you everywhere for this purpose. All that you need to do is to keep a floss, brush or mouthwash with you wherever you go. Once you’ve eaten, clean off the debris of your food through quick floss and a rinse.

Never forget to brush properly. Brush twice a day and that too preferably after flossing. It is suggested that you place the toothbrush at an angle of 45 degrees and make use of short and gentle strokes to clean your teeth. Ensure that the brush reaches every surface of your teeth. Lastly, make sure that you replace your brush every 3 or 4 months at maximum. We would recommend you to not go through whitening procedures too often because they tend to make your teeth appear blue or translucent eventually. Be sure to wash and rinse your mouth after eating certain foods that can cause stains such as blueberries, blackberries, and beets.

Try limiting bottled lemonade and sports drinks because they tend to erode the tooth enamel and hence contribute to tooth discoloration. Do not sip on these beverages for long periods of time and make sure to rinse thoroughly after the consumption of such beverages.

Apart from all of the above, what else is essential to keep your smile bright and healthy? Well, regular dental cleanings are the answer. Regular dental cleaning and checkups can definitely improve the quality of your teeth hence enhancing your smile. These cleaning routines ensure that there is no plaque or tartar in or around your teeth that can be an open invitation for bacterial infections.

Oral health care is extremely important as it can affect your overall health and therefore must be taken care off immediately and effectively. In order to prevent the worsening of the problem, you must visit your neighborhood Houston clinic on a regular basis.

Going to dentists and hygienists are steps one takes later on, but first, it comes down to the person himself. In order to find the best dental care in one's own life, a person needs to take responsibility. Understanding of the basics of dental care will be required to carry out personal hygienic care. Such knowledge can be obtained from reading and surfing through professional articles by authorities such as the articles from the American Dental Association. Start dental care by brushing your teeth twice a day and by making use of the right equipment. Practice good cleaning techniques and never forget to keep your teeth equipment clean.

You can also book an appointment right now to confirm your consultation with experienced dentists and obtain the best possible dental care in town. It is crucial to go through prior customer reviews when you are choosing your dentist, and dental clinic so carries out research.

URBN dental care has a flawless track record for giving patients a memorable and high-quality dental experience, one that they can cherish throughout their lives.

Yes, one can assuredly go to an ER for severe tooth pain because sometimes, severe toothaches can lead to swelling of face and the problem extends down to the neck causing troubles in breathing. But the answer can also vary. Just like other medical emergencies, dental emergencies also require different levels of care, which depends on the severity of the issue.

Ideally, when a person is dealing with a dental problem, his dentist should be his first call. However, if a problem is encountered on a holiday or a weekend, then the person can come to the ER to get help and guidance. It is important to understand the difference between a slight or moderate dental issue that can wait and a real hardcore emergency that can threaten one’s health.

ER becomes the right choice when a person experiences not just toothache but also other symptoms such as bleeding, injury and permanent loss of a tooth, etc. One should not waste time in over thinking the matter and should rush to the ER because sometimes swelling along with tooth pain can cause troubles in breathing and that is dangerous and risky.

Sometimes it becomes extremely necessary and ideal to go to urgent care for tooth pain. This is because toothaches are not always so simple. You or your family can suddenly feel tooth pain while munching food or anything and therefore at such times it is necessary to visit urgent care center immediately.

Most often, toothaches do not just stay limited to tooth pain and extend to causing more severe problems such as gum disease, etc. Many times a problem that starts with toothache go up to the swelling of one side of the face that can cause troubles in breathing and therefore needs to be checked in urgent care. Urgent care will handle the problem by providing you with pain relievers or antibiotics; whatever is necessary and suitable for the condition you are in will be provided to you immediately.

If you have a tooth pain that comes along with a swelling on the area, an injured jaw, a knocked out tooth or bleeding that does not stop then it is ideal that you go to urgent dental emergencies so that waiting does not become life threatening. You can make use of the emergency number that most dentists have so that they can get in touch with their patients if they experience any critical issues outside of business hours. If you are unable to reach your dentist due to some reason, then ensure visiting an emergency room in order to prevent the situation from becoming worse.
