One-Hour Chair-side Restoration

When you have a severely damaged tooth or dental decay: toothaches, dental pain, and sensitivity becomes the order of the day. It reaches a point you can not take it anymore and you want the tooth restored as soon as possible. There is no better way to restore you tooth within short period other than having a chair-side restoration that can include a dental filling or temporary dental crown.

Did you know you can whiten or restore your teeth within an hour? We are living in electronic era, whereby technology has taken over the traditional ways of doing things. Dentistry industry is not left behind in embracing the latest technologies. Most tooth restoration procedures requires you to make more than a single visit to the dentist, but with chairside restorations majority of work can be done within a single visit, however if esthetics come into play it is still ideal to send to a dental laboratory. With chairside work you dentist can work more diligently to get what you need done. In some cases the dentist can use the 3D technology to take digital images of your prepared tooth to make a crown or veneers. With chairside restorations, you may not  have to wear temporary crowns as you wait for the permanent crowns to be produced.

What is a chair-side restoration? This is advanced technology that designs and develops crown during the first visit. In fact, with a digital machine you can have your tooth restored within an hour in some cases. The goal of chair-side restoration is to provide tooth-colored restoration during the first appointment. A chair-side restoration is a treatment that helps to restore decayed, cracked, discolored, chipped and missing teeth.

Why do you need Chairside Restoration?

Tooth decay and cavities are the most common dental issues. You might think it isn’t important to visit a dentist when having such complications, especially if it involves a child. Most people assume that there is no need to take a child to the dentist if her baby teeth have cavities, because the child will grow other sets of teeth. What they don’t know is that cavities and tooth decay can harm the roots and jawbone, which might cause complications in future.

You will need a chair-side restoration to restore the functions of a tooth damaged by decay, cavity or fractures. a chair-side restoration involves cases of fillings, dental crowns or possible veneer treatment. Is your tooth missing, are your teeth damaged, are you teeth discolored? Would you like to have your pretty smile back within a single appointment? Then there is no better way to do it other than going for chair-side restoration.

Who is more susceptible to needing chair-side restoration?

If you don’t take good care of your oral health, then you might find yourself on the dentist office looking for means to have your natural teeth back. A tooth cavity is one of the most common dental problems. If you don’t brush or floss your teeth regular, you might end up experiencing plaque attack, which can lead to tooth decay or cavity. With holes on your teeth, you will be more susceptible to needing a chair-side restoration.

Plague forms when the teeth brushing and flossing isn’t done regularly. In addition, if you are used to eating a lot of carbs and sugary food regularly, then you are more susceptible to needing chair-side restoration, especially if you don’t take good care of your oral healthy. Clean your teeth well after eating carbs and sugars. When you don’t clean off the starch particles or sugars on your teeth surfaces or in the ones stack between your teeth, you are at danger of having acid attacks. Sometimes the plaques can harden into tartar, which is quite hard to remove. Tartar acts as a shield for bacteria and other biofilm.

Due to those plague attacks, you teeth will be destroyed, and the destruction will continue if something is not done as soon as possible. The destruction will even be more severe, if the bacteria and acid get into the tooth pulp, which includes nerves and connective tissues. If you don’t take good care of your oral health, all the above instances are bound to happen, and that makes you more susceptible to needing chair-side restoration.

There are certain risk factors that contribute to tooth decay and damage. Like discussed above inadequate brushing and flossing is the main factor that contributes to cavities. Others include, tooth location, not getting enough fluoride, eating disorders, frequent snacking, and sugary drinks and foods. You might be wondering how tooth location can be a risk factor. Most cases of tooth decay and cavities involve molars and premolars. This is because these teeth have many crannies, pits, and grooves as well as multiple roots, which tends to collect a lot food particles and bacteria as compared to other teeth.

How do you treat a patient using a chair-side restoration?

When deciding on the best strategy for teeth restoration, there things one needs to consider such as, your health, treatment plan and budget. A possible instrument with 3D technology can perform three types of restoration procedures; partial and full crowns, veneers, and other types of single-tooth restoration. With a chair-side restoration, the first step is preparing the damaged tooth, whereby the dentist paints a layer of reflective powder on the tooth surfaces. This layer should be thin and painted directly on the surface.

Next is the design phase, where the photographs are taken. The photo is turned into a 3D model using the chair-side software, which helps to analyze the approximate shape of the restoration. Using CAD software, your dentist can determine the right measurements of the model.

The final stage is the restoration phase. Here the information gathered during the design phase is sent into the milling machine, and out of solid block of the desired materials, the milling machine will create the restoration needed. Lastly, the restoration is fixed on the already prepared tooth. These latest technologies are used on a case per case basis and depends on your certain situation. I went in on Thursday to look at the art gallery they have upstairs and it is a very beautiful office. Had a convo with the owner which is the dentist for downstairs and he was telling me how he supports local artist and let them show off their art in his office, which I thought was wonderful. I got a very good vibe from this dental office. I will definitely be making an appointment to get my check up with Ben. I found my new dental office. I love when local small businesses support everyone. And I loved the Halloween stuff they had up also.

I highly recommend this dental office!!Today was my first visit at Urbn dental and I loved it!! Dentist, hygienist and staff were all very nice and super informative. I was a bit nervous about getting a deep cleaning, but it was pain free and I love the results. I have a follow-up appointment in a few weeks for a mouth guard (I grind my teeth) and I am actually looking forward to seeing the dentist again. Never thought I would be saying that!!

I hadn't been to the dentist in 4-5 years, nor had I ever scheduled an appointment for myself since moving out of my parents' house or getting my own insurance. Urbn Dental was very user-friendly and welcoming. They have complimentary coffee and water in the waiting room, and the staff are super helpful and nice. They explained everything to me from my X-rays to my insurance coverage, and I felt well cared for. Would definitely recommend!

As someone who is terrified of the dentist, all I can say is WOW. Best experience I’ve ever had at a dental office by far. Was very nervous when I first came in but everyone immediately made me feel comfortable. They walked me through every process and made me more knowledgeable about my teeth and gums. My mouth feels amazing after the deep cleaning (which came with zero pain and plus you get to watch Netflix the entire time which is awesome!) Will definitely be back.

I had to take my mom in for an emergency procedure today, and EVERYONE in the office was amazing, from the front desk, to the dental assistant, to the dentist himself. My mom felt so cared for, and I will definitely return. They were unbelievably wonderful.
